What does the contract look like and can we leave?
We agree on a minimum of six months; after that the contract runs indefinitely with three months' notice.
Six months is not a way to secure our revenue — it is the minimum period in which anything can be decided. The first numbers that mean something appear after six to eight weeks, because that is how long YouTube needs to work out who to show a new channel to. The guarantee is counted over those same six months. The three months' notice that follows is production time. When notice is given we have material in progress for several weeks ahead: recorded, in editing or scheduled with the host. That period exists so we can finish it and hand you a channel that keeps publishing instead of breaking mid-series.
Access sits on your side from day one. The channel is created on your Google account and we work as administrators with permissions you revoke with one click. There is no situation in which you have to negotiate with us over a password, because the password was never ours.
What is not in the contract: penalties for leaving, automatic renewal, or a clause making the material ours until the last invoice is paid.
